Brilliant Politican. Terrible Theologian. Thomas Jefferson was wrong

Why?

Thomas Jefferson should have stuck to what he knew.

Instead he took a shot at religion.

The third president created his own version of the bible. He took it upon himself to remove all miraculous works of Jesus, including the resurrection!

To Jefferson, only the teachings of Jesus Christ held value. Even going so far as comparing the resurrection to “dung”.

What’s the big deal?

“And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world.”
1 Corinthians 15:17-19

Without the resurrection, Christianity is not a thing!

Only through the death and resurrection of Christ was the prophecy fulfilled. God’s free gift of salvation is offered to you and me.

How does this apply to me?

Because of our sin we are on our way to hell. only through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ can we be washed of that sin and freed from the punishment we deserve

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.”
John 3:3

Are you born again?

Every single one of us has broken one of the 10 commandments. We are guilty in the eyes of a perfect God.

Put your trust in Christ today. All he asks you to do is:

REPENT– Ask him to forgive your sins and turn from them
TRUST GOD– Turn your back on sin and turn towards him
BE BAPTIZED– Get baptized in the name of the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit

At that point you will become born again in Jesus Christ. You will receive the Holy Spirit and you’re desire will be to please God!

Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
